Furthest left

Post by BrookDaCow on Fri Jun 03, 2016 3:31 am

What's the furthest to the political left you have been in your life? Peter Hitchens was once a Trotskyist. Were you ever a Marxist in your youth? Briefly liberalized in college? Share all regrettable political leanings of your past.

*Potential cringe thread*

I was raised by a far-left, hippie, SJW, fat, white, feminist mother with a big-dicked, drug-dealing, overly-aggressive, abusive, steals-rental-cars-and-drives-cross-country-when-mad, black step-father and a low-IQ, disobedient, GTA-obsessed, pisses-on-girls-in-school-for-no-reason, drug-dealing, steals-all-my-stuff, sucked-my-cock-once-for-some-reason, currently-in-jail-for-a-shoot-out-with-people-whose-car-he-tried-to-steal black step-brother in a mostly black neighborhood where I was taught that white people like us were the root of all the worlds evils and we should submit and apologize before the almighty black socialist Jesus even though the kids at my black school frequently bullied me.  I was even forced by my Mother to let all the black kids in my neighborhood play with MY video games and toys (which often ended up stolen or broken) anytime they wanted.

So, yeah, I was raised to be a Marxist cuck.  In my edgy phase, I even identified as full-on Stalinist communist for a while (even though I didn't understand the implications) and was a hardcore Bernie fan until not long ago.

Honestly Libertarianism has been the furthest left I've been.  I was basically raised by my grandfather who's mother was a German War-Bride the first five years of my life because my mother would work 6am-9pm and would drop me off.  He was in a Biker-Gang after 'Nam when he left the military and when he found religion became a cop before he took up farming.  He was always sitting me on his lap and telling me how the south was right during the Civil War and telling me stories of Germany and Great-Uncle Heinrich who was in the Waffen-SS Panzerdivision. He still flys a confederate and a No Quarter flag in his front lawn. I had pretty far-right upbringing in my impressionable years, for which I am thankful for.

I was completely indoctrinated in my youth. One can't help but be in Canada. We are taught that socialized medicine and multiculturalism are cardinal virtues, and the atheist community I was hanging around with was almost exclusively left-leaning. (Un)fortunately I was left homeless at 17, and had some, a lot, of time to read during the off-hours of struggling to my feet and restarting my life. I found the biggest book I could and promised to read it front to cover. This book was, of course, Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged. Heaven-ordained, it must have been, for it opened the floodgates to a lot of learning kept from me. Long story short, here I sit today, many years later, a leader of an Alternative Right group.

I used to watch the Young Turks and enjoy it.

I used to vote mostly Democrat.

I used to think Bill Clinton did a good job (not that kind of job).

Needless to say...things have changed dramatically.
